The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports has announced the postponement of the 11th National Youth Festival, scheduled to be held at Hyderabad from 12th to 16th January. This has been done in view of the organizations like Nehru Yuvak Kendra Sangthan and National Service Scheme are presently focussing on relief work in Tsunami affected areas in the coastal states. The new dates for the festival would be announced later.
In the meanwhile, the Officials of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and its apex bodies like Nehru Yuvak Kendra Sangthan, National Service Scheme, Sports Authority of India (SAI) and Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Youth Development etc have decided to donate their one day’s salary to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund with a view to helping the victims of the tsunami tragedy.
