Water & Power Consultancy Services (India) Limited (WAPCOS), an ISO 9001: 2000 premier International Consultancy Organization under the Ministry of Water Resources has been awarded the Reconstruction/Rehabilitation and Completion of Salma Dam Project (3 x 14MW) in Herat Province, Afghanistan by Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India under Technical & Economic Cooperation at a total cost of Rs. 351 crores. An agreement for the same has been signed by WAPCOS and Ministry of External Affairs.
WAPCOS will provide comprehensive Engineering consultancy services including construction/creation of infrastructure facilities, pre-construction survey & investigations, review of basic design & drawings, tender engineering, model studies, detailed engineering services; construction supervision, management & monitoring; review of contractors’ submittals, setting up of quality control laboratory at site, vetting of manufacturers’ designs & drawings of hydro-mechanical & electro-mechanical works; inspection, testing & commissioning and financial & administrative management for the Project.
The entire project is scheduled to be completed within a period of four years. With this, WAPCOS has ventured into providing Turnkey Services for dams besides providing consultancy in water resources, power & infrastructure development
