The amount of unrealized earnings up to September, 2004 is Rs.2951 crore, out of which major amount of unrealized earnings (Rs. 1762 crore) pertains to State Electricity Boards/Power Houses (SEBs/PHs).
However, provisions already exist under Railway Rules for fixing accountability and responsibility of railwaymen in their duty to realize the earnings.
This information was given by the Minister of State for Railways, Shri R. Velu, in a written reply to a question from Shri Prabhunath Singh in the Lok Sabha today.
