Government proposes to connect Universities/Schools of the country with EDUSAT in stages due to large number of institutions. There are two types of connectivity, one through National and another through five Regional beams. For National beam, University Grants Commission, All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT), Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR) have been identified for developing national network to connect the relevant institutions nationally. Besides, the Ministers of School Education of different States have been impressed upon for effective usage of regional beams by States for School Education.
This information was given by the Minister of State for Human Resource Development Shri M.A.A Fatmi in a written reply in Lok Sabha today.
