Presently 359 telephone exchanges are working in Jammu & Kashmir, out of which 57 are connected with Digital Microwave system. 14 more telephone exchanges are likely to be opened in the state during 2004-05.
The above information was given by the Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Dr. Shakeel Ahmad in a written reply to a question by Shri T.S. Bajwa, in the Rajya Sabha today.
