State Cooperative Ministers are gathering here tomorrow to discuss ways of invigorating the cooperative sector. Union Agriculture Minister Shri Sharad Pawar will inaugurate the State Ministers Conference and invite states’ suggestions on different issues relating to the proposed amendment to the Constitution. The amendment will seek to ensure timely elections; better management and better information flow in cooperative organizations. The conference will discuss amendments in the Multi State Cooperative Societies Act, 2002 and constitution of a high level commission to look into the emerging issues and challenges in the cooperative sector.
