The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Urban Development, headed by Mohd. Salim, MP have decided to examine various aspects of the working of Delhi Development Authority. As the functioning of Delhi Development Authority affects the residents of Delhi at large, it has been decided to invite opinion/views of the public in this regard.
The erstwhile Committee on Urban and Rural Development (2003) had also sought public opinion/views through electronic and print media in regard to the functioning of DDA on 13th June, 2003. In response to that, about two hundred memoranda were received. However, the examination of DDA remained inconclusive as the Committees tenure was over.
As such, all the interested persons are once again requested to submit their opinion/views in this regard. They may send five copies of the memoranda containing their opinion/views on the subject to Shri K. Chakraborty, Director, Lok Sabha Secretariat, Room No. 518, Parliament House Annexe, New Delhi 110001, in a sealed cover so as to reach him on or before 31 December, 2004. The Memoranda could also be faxed at No. 23012629. Those who had earlier submitted their memoranda to the erstwhile Committee, need not repeat them again.
The memoranda which might be submitted to the Committee on Urban Development will form part of the records of the Committee and would be treated as strictly confidential and the contents thereof may not be divulged to anyone, as such an act would constitute a breach of privilege of the Committee.
