Shri R. Ganesan, an officer of the Indian Postal Service 1969 Batch, took over charge as Secretary, Department of Posts. Shri Ganesan was the Member (Operations), Postal Services Board before his taking over as Secretary.
A postgraduate from IIT Chennai, Shri Ganesan has held various senior positions in the Postal Department as CPMG, U.P. Circle and Principal Post Master General of Maharashtra Circle. Shri Ganesan has also undertaken prestigious assignments with the Bhaba Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai and ITI Bangalore. He had been a Consultant with the Universal Postal Union for training in development of postal network in Asia and Pacific regions.
