The Government appointed seven General Managers, filling up the existing vacancies in zonal railways and production units.

Jain, General Manager, Northeast Frontier Railway (Construction), Maligaon, Guwahati, Ramesh Chandra, General Manager, Southern Railway, Chennai, S.B. Bhattacharya, General Manager, North Western Railway, Jaipur, A.K. Sanwalka, General Manager, Northeast Frontier Railway, Guwahati and A.K. Rao, Director General, R.D.S.O., Lucknow.
