setting up of new radio stations

72 new radio stations are proposed to be set up in the country. Of these eight will be in Uttaranchal; seven in West Bengal; five in Arunachal Pradesh; four each in Bihar, Chhatishgarh and Orissa; three each in Andhra Pradesh; Assam, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Tripura and Uttar Pradesh; two each in Gujarat, Karnataka, Manipur and Punjab and each in Haryana, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya and Tamil Nadu.

At present, 215 All India Radio stations including 14 in Uttar Pradesh, are functioning in the country.
