The Chairman, Law Commission of India Justice M. Jagannadha Rao presented the Commission’s 191st Report on ‘Regulation of Funds collected for Calamity Relief’ to Shri H.R. Bhardwaj, Union Minister for Law & Justice on 15th December 2004. The Law Commission had earlier released a consultation paper on this subject and after receiving responses, finalized the Report. The Commission in the report has recommended for enacting a Central legislation for regulation of funds collected for calamity relief.
