The Union Minister of Railways, Shri Lalu Prasad has expressed his profound grief over the death of the former Prime Minister, Shri P.V. Narasimha Rao, who passed away here today.
In a condolence message to the bereaved family, Shri Prasad said that Narasimha Rao was an able administrator, a scholar par excellence and a statesman, who served the country for over four decades in various capacities of public life including Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Union Cabinet Ministers and the Prime Minister of India. He said Shri Rao will be remembered as a progenitor of globalization of Indian economy and integrating India further in the comity of nations. He was one who carried forward the vision of Rajiv Gandhi for all-round modernization and liberalization of the countrys economy and revolution in the telecom and information technology sector. He further said that in his death the country has lost an able son, who provided more than four decade long service to the people. May his Soul rest in peace, he averred.
