press council cancels its fact finding committee visit to kerala

The three member Fact Finding Committee of the Press Council of India has cancelled its tour to Kerala in first week of January, 2005. The tour was in connection with the incidents of violence against media persons and the media establishments following exposure of the role of a Minister of Kerala in the ice cream parlour sex scandal. The decision to cancel the tour for the time being has been taken keeping in view the Tsunami devastation caused in South India including Kerala. The Committee will reschedule its programme once the situation is normal.
