Indian Railways have detected payment of fake pension in 52 cases involving payment of Rs.1.5 crores. Measures have been taken to plug such loopholes by insuring payment through computerized accounting.
Besides, steps have been taken to prevent undercharging and overloading of freight and parcel consignments to maximize revenues. Deterrent action is being taken against officials conniving in undercharging and overloading.
In addition, drive against ticketless travelling or persons travelling with improper tickets has been intensified to plug leakages of revenues to the Railways.
