performance of railway production units in april-october 2004

All the Railway Production Units performed well during the first seven months of the current financial year ending October 2004, with two of them exceeding the target, three just meeting the target and one falling short of the target.

The Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) produced 27 electric locomotives against the target of 21 and the Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai, 568 coaches against the target of 560.

The Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala, the Rail Wheel Factory (RWF), Bangalore and the Diesel Modernization Works (DMW), Patiala just met the production target by rolling out 617 coaches, 68169 wheels, 32389 axles and rebuilding 42 diesel locomotives respectively.

The Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW), Varanasi produced 65 diesel locomotives against the target of 68, falling short by three locos.

During October 2004, the production of wagons exceeded the target of 1600 wagons with the total production of 1772.5 wagons.
