Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited (NLC), a public sector unit of the Union Coal Ministry has produced 205.57 lakh tonnes of lignite during 2003-04 against 186.24 lakh tonnes in 2002-03 and 183.69 lakh tonnes in 2001-02. It has produced 16388.98 million units of power in 2003-04 against 14969.95 million units in 2002-03 and 14451.32 million units in 2001-02. It has exceeded its targets in power generation in all the three years.
This information was given by the Minister of State for Coal and Mines, Dr. Dasari Narayana Rao in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today.
