Lok Sabha

From September 6, 2004, 100 per cent concession second class basic Mail/Express fare has been extended to unemployed youths travelling to appear in interviews for selection to Central Government job, subject to certain conditions. Details of such journeys are, however, not separately maintained.

As a measure of austerity and economy, it is not feasible to enlarge the extant scheme.

This information was given by the Minister of State for Railway Shri R. Velu in a written reply to a question from Shri Sushil Kumar Modi in the Lok Sabha today.
