The progress of the new Railway terminal in Kerala at Kochi Veli works is about 45 per cent. Pit line work of 540 meter and platform work is about 150 meter have been completed.

This work is likely to be completed by March 31, 2005.

The main features of this work is creation of a new terminal with one platform line, one stabling line, one pit line, station building and service buildings.

The estimated cost of the work is Rs. 8 crore.

This information was given by the Minister of State for Railway Shri R. Velu in a written reply to a question from S/Shri C.K. Chandrappan and P.K. Vasudevan Nair in the Lok Sabha today.
