The Union Cabinet today gave its approval for introduction of a National Rural Employment Guarantee Bill, 2004 in the current session of the Lok Sabha.
The enactment of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act would guarantee at least 100 days of employment in casual manual labour at prescribed wage rate to every poor household in the rural areas as decided by the Cabinet.
