The Union Cabinet today gave ex-post-facto approval for the decision by the Prime Minister for departure from Government of India (Transaction of Business) Rules 1961 under Rule 12 for extending the tenure of the National Commission for youth for a period of 6 months i.e. April 1, 2004 to September 30, 2004 and also gave its ex-post-facto approval for winding up of the National Commission for Youth with effect from 30th September, 2004 i.e. after the date upto which the Prime Minister had accorded the approval for extending the tenure of the Commission.
The National Commission for Youth with its Headquarters at New Delhi was set up on 15th March, 2002. The tenure of Commission has now been extended upto 30th September, 2004.
