National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) smelter has been adjudged the excellent energy efficient unit and received the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) award for Energy Management. CII conducts this annual competition among energy-intensive units for encouraging energy management system. This year's competition was held at Chennai among 146 industries.
The Smelter team presented a paper highlighting the Company's profile, energy management system and energy saving projects executed in the last three years, along with future roadmap for energy conservation. The paper also included various pollution control measures implemented by the Smelter.
