The Defence Minister of Russian Federation Mr. Sergei Ivanov called on Defence Minister Shri Pranab Mukherjee today and held discussions on matters of defence cooperation.
Mr Ivanov is in Delhi in connection with the meeting of the Indo – Russian Inter Governmental Commission (IRIGC) on Military Technical Cooperation which began its deliberations here today. Earlier in the day, the Russian Defence Minister was given a ceremonial Guard of Honour at Defence Headquarters. The three service Chiefs, Defence Secretary and Secretary Defence Production also called on him.
The Defence Minister of the Russian Federation arrived in New Delhi yesterday. The Defence Ministers of India and Russia are expected to sign a protocol of IRIGC tomorrow.
