increase in allocation of rakes to bangladesh

Lok Sabha

Request has been made for the supply of minimum 10 rakes per month to Adilabad Railway Station, South Central Railway for export of Soya De-oiled Cake to Bangladesh.

Due to limited acceptance of rakes by Bangladesh Railway, Indian Railways are constrained to regulate loading of traffic to Bangladesh under a quota scheme. The quota is proportionate to the last year’s performance and pending demands over the Indian Railways system for Bangladesh. It is, therefore, not possible to allot 10 rakes per month to Adilabad Railway Station, South Central Railway or any other station. All indents are cleared as per turn and priority within the quota and this scheme is being followed strictly.

This information was given by the Minister of State for Railways Shri R. Velu a written reply to a question from Shri Madhusudan Reddy in the Lok Sabha today.
