government examining feasibility of revival of closed fertilizer psus

Keeping in view the National Common Minimum Programme of the UPA Government , the feasibility of revival of the closed Public Sector Fertilizer Units is being examined. This was stated by the Union Minister of Chemicals, Fertilisers and Steel, Shri Ram Vilas Paswan, here today. He was addressing a meeting of Senior Officials of the Ministry, PSUs and representatives of different Trade Unions. Shri Paswan said that the Government would explore all possibilities for revival of closed Units and would consider re-employment of the ex-employees suitably. He said that the Government has released Rs.833.48 crore for making payments under the Voluntary Separation Scheme. He assured employees of the closed Units that their interests would be protected. Shri S.N.P.N.Sinha, Secretary, Department of Fertilizers, also spoke on the occasion.
