The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region sanctions and funds projects in the North Eastern Region through Non-lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR). In addition, North Eastern Council (NEC) also sanctions and funds development projects in the Region. During the last three years the Government has sanctioned Rs. 1591.57 crore under NLCPR and NEC has sanctioned Rs. 1368.30 crore during the same period.
The amount actually released to various North Eastern States was Rs. 1591.57 crore under NLCPR and Rs. 733.233 crore has been released by NEC to various States. This is an addition to the amount of funds released to various organsiations.
The details of amount actually spent through NLCPR and NEC during these three years by respective State Government year-wise and State-wise are as under:
