The two-coach tourism train, hauled by the oldest steam locomotive, the Fairy Queen, between Delhi Cantonment and Alwar has carried 129 tourists with 54 per cent occupancy till December 10, 2004 in the current fiscal year 2004-2005. It earned Rs. 6,50,875. The capacity of the tourist train is 60 passengers.
The Fairy Queen steam locomotive is a Guinness Record holder and the National Tourism Award winner. It run 138 kilometres on Delhi Cantt-Alwar circuit on a visit to the Sariska Tiger Reserve.
The tariff is Rs. 7,500/US$165 (Rs. 3,750/US$83 for a child) per passenger.
Indian Railways provides a comprehensive package to the tourists in collaboration with Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC).
