Rajya Sabha
A total of 319 stations over Indian Railways have been selected as model stations upto October, 2004 for providing upgraded passenger amenities, depending upon the category of stations.
In Andhra Pradesh, 13 stations have been identified as model stations which are: Dharmavaram, Guntakal, Guntur, Hyderabad, Kacheguda, Kakinada, Nellore, Rajahmundry, Secunderabad, Tirupati, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Warangal.
Fifty eight stations have already been developed as model stations.
This information was given by the Minister of State for Railway Shri R. Velu in a written reply to a question from Smt. N.P. Durga in the Rajya Sabha today.
