Ministry of Coal allocated a part of coal released under Open Sales Scheme (OSS) to All India Brick and Tiles Manufacturers Federation, New Delhi so that coal could be supplied to brick units through this federation. Coal companies supply coal to brick units on the basis of sponsorship granted by the State Governments. The supply of coal to brick units depends on availability of coal after meeting the requirement of core sector consumers.
All India Brick and Tiles Manufacturers Federation, New Delhi is recognized neither by Ministry of Coal nor by any State Government as a distributing agency for distribution of coal to brick units.
This information was given by the Minister of State for Coal and Mines, Dr. Dasari Narayana Rao in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today.
