Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) a Ministry of Defence, Public Sector Undertaking presented a dividend cheque of Rs. 4 crore and 50 lakhs to Defence Minister Shri Pranab Mukherjee in New Delhi today. The cheque was handed over to the Defence Minister by BEML, Chairman and Managing Director Shri VRS Natarajan. BEML achieved a record turnover of Rs. 1766 crore for the year 2003-04 with a profit before tax of Rs. 50 crores. During the current year, the company plans to achieve sales of Rs. 2000 crores. During the first six months it has already done a business of Rs. 768 crores as compared to 766 crores during the last year.
Minister of State for Defence Production Shri BK Handique and Secretary Defence Production Shri Shekhar Dutt were also present on the occasion.
