Rajya Sabha

The Minister of State in the Ministry of External Affairs, Shri E. Ahamed informed the Rajya Sabha today that the French Law bans all ostentatious religious symbols in French public schools without prejudice to any particular religion.

The Minister further informed that the Prime Minister has received representations regarding this issue. The Prime Minister and the Minister of External Affairs have taken it up with the French Government suitably.

This information was given to Rajya Sabha today by the Minister of State for External Affairs, Shri E. Ahamed in reply to a question by Shri Amar Singh.
