Lok Sabha India has put forward the idea of a broader Asian Economic Community comprising India, ASEAN, Japan, China and Republic of Korea. Some studies and seminars by leading think tanks and academic organizations of these countries on closer economic integration in Asia have already been undertaken. This was stated by the Minister of State for External Affairs, Shri E. Ahamed in reply to a question by Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia in Lok Sabha today.
