The total production of Aluminium metal in the country during April-November, 2004 has been 5,73,849 tonnes as against 5,45,684 tonnes during the same period last year. Out of this, the public sector National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) produced 2,17,315 tonnes and Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO) with 49 per cent Central Government equity 64,810 tonnes. The private sector Hindustan Aluminium Company Limited (HINDALCO) produced 2,23,461 tonnes, Indian Aluminium Company Limited (INDAL) 43,973 tonnes and Madras Aluminium Company Limited (MALCO) 24,290 tonnes.
Total production of alumunium metal during November, 2004 was 75,339 tonnes against a target of 74,767 tonnes. Out of this, NALCO produced 29,700 tonnes, BALCO 8,200 tonnes, HINDALCO 28,355 tonnes, INDAL 5,414 tonnes and MALCO 3,098 tonnes. NALCO exported 65,013 tonnes of alumina and 7,294 tonnes of aluminium during the month.
