Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has reported that they were allotting land for petrol and diesel pump to the public sector oil companies for their pending Letter of Intent (LOI) holders listed with DDA on temporary license fee basis till the formulation of new policy on 20.6.2003.
DDA have further stated that allotment has been made to the Oil Companies for their LOI holder as per the seniority from time to time. In the last draw held on 25.3.3003, the LOI holders whose requests were received on or before 23.4.2001 were included for allotment of the sites available with DDA. However, DDA have now revised the policy for allotment of land for petrol pump outlets, which was approved by the Authority on 20.6.2003. As per this revised policy now under implementation, petrol pump sites are disposed of through competitive mode of disposal i.e. either through auction or through tender in which any Company/Firm which have been authorized/granted marketing rights by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas can participate. No new LOI holder has been allotted any freshly carved out petrol pump sites after 25.3.2003.
As per the revised policy, allotment of petrol pump sites will be made through auction/tender only to the oil companies and no allotment will be made to pending LOI holders.
This information was given by Shri Ghulam Nabi Azad, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Urban Development to the question raised by Shri Harish Rawat in Rajya Sabha today.
