The Union Cabinet today gave its ex-post-facto approval to the Agreement signed between India and Bahrain on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters. The Agreement will improve the effectiveness of both countries in the investigation, prosecution, and suppression of crime including those related to terrorism.
Similar treaties on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matter have already been signed with UK, Canada, Russian Federation, Switzerland, Turkey, France, Kirghyzstan, Kazakhstan, UAE, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Ukraine, USA, South Africa, Thailand, Kuwait and South Korea.
