MEDIA ADVISORY


ROUNDTABLE OF ASIAN MINISTERS ON REGIONAL COOPERATION IN THE OIL ECONOMY

Dear Sir/Madam,

A Roundtable of Asian Ministers on Regional Cooperation in the Oil Economy is being organized in New Delhi on January 6, 2005 at 9.00 AM. The Opening and the Closing Sessions are open for media with a scope for registering 40 correspondents on first-cum-first-served basis not exceeding one per organization. Registration would commence at 10.00.a.m. on 3rd January 2005 in Room No.104, A-Wing, Shastri Bhavan, New Delhi and will close at 4.00 P.M. on 04-01-2005 . Entry during these sessions would be on production of Conference Registration Card alongwith either PIB Accreditation Card or the respective organisation’s Identity Card. For TV camera crew and still photographers entry would be only by PIB Accreditation Card. Foreign correspondents would be registered based on either PIB Accreditation or on possession of journalist visa (J-Visa) & on the recommendations of XP Division, MEA. Following ground rules have been laid for smooth coverage:



In addition to official media (DD, AIR & Photo Division) and foreign journalists traveling on J-Visa, media persons from PIB accredited organizations will be registered.



The Opening Session will be held between 9.00.a.m. – 9.45.a.m.



Camerapersons (still & movie) are required to report for security check latest by 8.00.a.m. and the entry to Meeting Hall would be closed at 8.30.a.m.



Five to 10 minutes before the formal beginning of the session, still and movie camerapersons would be allowed movements to have coverage from different angles. After that, while still photographers will leave the Hall, the TV Camera Crews would go to their fixed positions.



TV Camera Crews & still photographers will not occupy the seats.



The entire media leave the Hall after the Opening Session at 9.45 A.M.



ANI, DD and Photo Division would be allowed coverage for the Second Session. They will record speeches of all the Ministers and will supply the footage to any channel whoever demands.



Similarly Photo Division officer will supply the photo taken during the 2nd Session.



They will be placed facing the Indian and Kuwaiti Ministers and will also be allowed restricted movement to record speeches of the different Ministers.



Closing Session will also be open to only specially registered correspondents and PIB accredited TV camera crews.



Live screening of the Opening, Second and Closing Sessions in the Media Centre will be arranged for the media persons.


Media persons are requested to kindly get registered for covering the Roundtable as per programme mentioned above.
