Strengthening of Golden Quadrilateral and its diagonals is a part of National Rail Vikas Yojana on which work commenced in 2003-04 and the Yojana is expected to be completed in five years.
The completion of the works on Golden Quadrilateral and diagonals is expected to remove capacity bottlenecks in the critical sections of the railway network.
This information was given by the Minister of State for Railways, Shri R. Velu, in a written reply to a question from Shri Raghuveer Singh Koshal in the Lok Sabha today.
