Coal India Limited has initiated a proposal for revival / turnaround of Dankuni Coal Complex (DCC) in West Bengal. It has proposed a number of steps for revival of the Complex. These are : price revision of gas produced by DCC; revision of price of DCC products-coke and tar; availability of right / appropriate quality of coal for the plant; aggressive sales and marketing of DCC products; improvement in plant capacity utilisation; rationalisation of manpower; various cost reduction measures and the capital rebuilding scheme envisaging a capital outlay of Rs.58.83 crores in phases to boost up gas production.
This information was given by the Minister of State for Coal & Mines, Dr. Dasari Narayana Rao, in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today.
