Lok Sabha


The Union Government has sanctioned the following tourism projects for Bihar for 2004-05:


Eco tourism development at Bhimbandh

:Rs. 370.00 lakh

Development of tourist resort at Maner

:Rs. 407.20 lakh

Eco-tourism development of Valmiki Nagar (West Champaran)

:Rs. 300.06 lakh

Development of Vishnu Vihar at Gaya

:Rs. 271.06 lakh

Construction of tourist complex at Maner Sharif, Patna under destination development

:Rs. 500.00 lakh

GOI-UNDP Endogenous Tourism project – Nepura in Distt. Nalanda

:Rs. 19.80 lakh

Construction of new high school building and shifting of existing high school from frontage Mayasarovar Lake, Bodhgaya
:Rs. 33.11 lakh



This was stated by the Minister of State for Tourism, Smt. Renuka Chowdhury in a reply to a question by Shri Sushil Kumar Modi in the Lok Sabha here today. She further stated that the implementation of the projects is the responsibility of the State Government. However, the Ministry of Tourism also monitors the progress of the projects from time to time.
