The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has blacklisted three Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) for misutilisation of funds. Stating this in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today, the Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Smt. Subbulakshmi Jagadeesan said that eleven Non-Government Organisations were found not utilizing the grant-in –aid for the purpose for which it was sanctioned. She said that show cause notices were issued to such NGOs seeking clarification for misutilisation of funds. The Minister said that after due consideration of explanation received from them, further grant-in–aid to eight NGOs were discontinued whereas three NGOs have been blacklisted.
