Shri Ram Vilas Paswan, Minister of Steel, Chemicals and Fertilizers has reviewed the position of backlog of SC/ST vacancies in various PSUs under the Ministry of Steel and has given strict directions to fill up all the vacancies meant for SCs/STs in the respective PSUs by December 2005. It may be recalled that Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, while meeting the SC/ST Parliamentary Forum on 18th August 2005, had reiterated that SC/ST backlog vacancies should be filled up by this year end through the process of Special Recruitment Drive.
Shri Paswan has also directed that CMDs/MDs of the concerned PSUs will be held accountable for any laxity on their part for not clearing the backlog vacancies reserved for SCs/STs in different PSUs. The Minister has also given strict directions to all the Secretaries concerned to personally monitor the progress and submit monthly Action Taken Report by the first week of every month.
