Espirit-de-corps, bonhomie, camaraderie and enduring friendships are the foundations on which the armed forces personnel build their lives”. These were the words of the Chief of Army Staff, General JJ Singh at the 25th National Defence Academy Course get together dinner at the Army House here.
The occasion was marked by two days of activities including wreath laying ceremony at the Amar Jawan Jyoti in memory of the departed officers of the course, a reunion dinner and the grand finale in the form of a dinner hosted by Gen JJ Singh at the Army House. Amongst the prominent attendees were Lt Gen Hari Prasad, GOC-in-C, Northern Command, Lt Gen CS Cheema, DG Army Air Defence and Vice Admiral PK Jaitley, CMO, Indian Navy.
The get together of the course mates after 42 years of having passed out from their respective institutions on 02 Aug 1964, 24 Dec 1964 and 01 Jan 1965 for the Army, Air Force and Navy respectively was a nostalgic event for most, as well as a time to remember their departed friends they had grown up with.
Brig Pavan Gulati (Retd) the spokesperson of the Course mentioned that the event is likely to become a regular fixture in future.
