The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and its various wings today organised the Sadbhavana Run in all state capitals of the country including Northeastern States and Jammu & Kashmir to spread the message of development, peace and goodwill. Youth from all walks of life stood shoulder-to-shoulder and pledged to dissolve differences for larger goals and brighter tomorrow to mark the Sadbhavana Diwas.
In New Delhi Shri Prithviraj Chavan, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office flagged off the symbolic run marking the 61st Birth Anniversay of former Prime Minister late Shri Rajiv Gandhi. Hundreds of youth belonging to Youth Clubs and Mahila Mandals of the Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYKS), various schools of Delhi, SAI Sportspersons and NSS volunteers participated in the run. Several photographs depicting various facets of Late Shri Rajiv Gandhi’s life and his mission to unite India on secular lines were exhibited on the occasion. The NYKS also launched a nationwide signature campaign in favour of Sadbhavana.
Congress leaders Shri Mukul Vasnik and Shri Sandip Dixit,MP, Smt. Vandana K. Jena, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and Director General, NYKS Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Khan were also present on the occasion.
