Rajya Sabha

The work of construction of rail line between Lalitpur-Satna, Rewa-Singrauli and Mahoba-Khajuraho (541 kms.) has been taken up in phases. Final location survey from Lalitpur to Khajuraho (167.5 kms.) and Mahoba-Khajuraho (65 kms.) has been completed. On Satna-Khajuraho (116 kms.) and Rewa-Singrauli (191.6 kms.) section, final location survey for 50 kms. in Khajuraho-Satna and for 130 kms. from Rewa end completed. Earthwork and bridge works have been taken up where land has been acquired.

The anticipated cost of the project is Rs. 925 crore and an expenditure of Rs. 51 crore has been incurred upto March, 2005. An outlay of Rs. 25 crore has been provided for this work during 2005-06.
