The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Lok Sabha Member from Asansol, Shri Bikash Chowdhary here today.
In a message, Dr. Singh said that Shri Bikash Chowdhary was a popular leader who was actively committed to the cause of workers. His deep concern for disadvantaged sections of society underpinned his long and distinguished career in public life. As Member of both West Bengal Legislative Assembly and later as Member of Lok Sabha, Shri Chowdhary contributed a great deal to public good. He will also be remembered for his active involvement in the cultural field, the Prime Minister added.
