The Press Information Bureau(PIB) has made special arrangements to provide President’s Address to the Nation on the eve of Independence Day and also the Prime Minister’s Independence Day Address in video format on internet in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre (NIC). The webcast of these addresses will be available simultaneously with their telecast on Doordarshan. These addresses will be available on www.pib.nic.in, www.indiaimage.nic.in and www.independenceday.nic.in
PIB’s website is widely used for information relating to the Government initiatives and policies. It caters to the information needs of mediapersons all over the world and also the general public. PIB has taken this new initiative of making available the above important speeches with a view to disseminate them to a larger audience using advances in modern technology.
PIB and NIC also collaborated on an earlier occasion to webcast the Prime Minister’s address at the recent meeting of the National Development Council. The address was accessed by a large number of web-users all over the world.
