Government has released an additional quota of one-lakh tonne of sugar for indigenous free sale for the month of August 2005. This is in addition to 13.16 lakh tonne of sugar (free sale plus levy quota of sugar) already released for this month.
With enough stocks in hand, the Government would not hesitate in releasing further quantities in case requirement so dictates.
