Under the self employment component of the Swarna Jayanti Shahari Rozgar Yojana (SJSRY), skill training is provided to the urban poor, living below the poverty line, in variety of services in manufacturing, trades as well as in local skills and local craft trades, suited to their aptitude and local conditions so that they can set up self-employment ventures or secure salaried employment with enhanced remuneration.
