The setting up of “North East National Adventure Academy” for the youths of North-Eastern States is under progress. A Working Committee has already been constituted by the Ministry of Defence for preparing a detailed feasibility report for setting up of the proposed Institute. A sub-Committee of this Committee has already carried out the reconnaissance of the areas and has identified the proposed site for the Institute in the State of Aunachal Pradesh.
As reported by the Ministry of Defence, the issues pertaining to availability of land for the Institute are yet to be resolved by the State Government and no budgetary provisions have been worked out.
This information was given by the Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Shri Prithviraj Chavan in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha today.
