The Govt has decided to offer 100 scholarships to schools dropouts who have completed VII/VIII but could not complete their studies due to financial or family constraints.
Under the scheme of National Talent Search Scholarship for Dropouts, the National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has offered 100 scholarships for a period of one year only on a trial basis for children who have dropped out of regular schooling after class VIII. The selection process for the present scheme would be similar to two stages format as in vogue for talent search scheme.
The examination would be conducted early next year and the selected candidates of Rs. 200/- p.m. for two years and Rs. 500/- per annum as book grant. The students are expected to join mainstream schooling from class XI onwards.
