The Union Cabinet today approved the signing of MoU between the Ministry of Environment & Forests, Government of India and Government of Italy for cooperation in the field of Climate Change and development and implementation of projects under the Clean Development Mechanism of the Kyoto Protocol.
This Agreement would provide an institutional mechanism between India and Italy to promote and coordinate cooperation in the field of Climate Change including Clean Development Mechanism. This will facilitate exchange of information between the Designated National Authorities of India and Italy to facilitate Clean Development Mechanism projects.
This Agreement shall remain in force till the end of first commitment period i.e. 2012.
